When I was first in recovery I learned of the idea of living life in the "present moment." I thought it was a very interesting idea and while I thought I was living in the present moment...it has taken me years...I mean YEARS to figure out what living in the present moment actually requires.
What I can tell you for sure is that it is not something that happens overnight. So lucky for all you gals out there who struggle with this. It's OKAY that you're not exactly where you need to be right now. Where you are right now and acceptance of that place is what will bring you into the present moment more quickly.
So the next time you start judging yourself and trying to run faster than you know is healthy (or even possible for you), slow down, SLOW DOWN...take a deep breathe, close your eyes and take another DEEP BREATHE...and begin again. I promise...you'll feel much better.
